Message for Region 6 President Karen Sakata

Welcome to ACSA, Region 6.  I am honored to be serving you as the ACSA Region 6 President representing Alameda and Contra Costa County.  Region 6 has become one of the most active regions in the state with over 1,310 members!

During these challenging fiscal times it is imperative that we support one another as school administrators through our advocacy, mentoring, professional development activities.  Networking with fellow ACSA members helps us to develop strong positive professional relationships. 

We support the mission of ACSA as follows:

• Supporting California’s Educational Leaders
• Ensuring All Students have the essential skills and knowledge to excel and
• Championing Public Education

Our Region 6 activities that support ACSA’s mission include awards celebrations, professional development presentations/conferences, membership campaigns, support to charters, and participation in legislative advocacy.  Region 6 has focused on three major projects: the Mentoring Program, Women’s Leadership Network and professional development workshops and the Region Conference/Awards.

I look forward to working with our region executive board, state committee representatives, charter presidents and you, the ACSA Membership.
